The most famous goat in Norway!

The iconic Svolværgeita (“The Goat”) towers over the Capital of Lofoten, Svolvær. This pillar of granite has multi-pitch routes for beginners and the advanced. If you´re a normally fit traveler you must come and climb Svolværgeita with us. It is said to be our guests highlight of their Lofoten visit, time and time again. The views from the summit of Svolværgeita are amazing and well worth the effort of the climb. This is on the bucket list for all climbers in Norway. Join us on this classic adventure this summer! The hike to the base of the climb takes about 45 minutes. Its steep, but with a good path its doable for everybody. The climbing is challenging, no doubt. We climb the backside of «The Goat» in 2 pitches. Our guides help you out with tips and tricks to manage the difficult sections. From the summet we abseil down to the ground and hike back down again. A thrilling experience, but also a nice introduction for those of you who want to do more climbing in the Lofoten mountains.

Itinerary:

The guide will meet you in our office in Tore Hjorts Gate 17 to distribute equipment and have a quick talk about the day. We will drive to the parking after all equipment are packed and everyone are ready to go.

The approach: A 45 min hike up stairs and a steep trail will bring us to the start of the climb.

The climbing: There are two pitches to the top. We will do each of them in the same style. The guide will first climb up and after that he or she will belay you from the top. After you reach the top of the horn and have taken pictures the guide will lower you all the way to the ground.

The descent: We will hike down the same way we hiked up. If you are interested in hiking further up to Djeveltanna let the guide know before tour start.
