Haute Route Ski Traverse, Chamonix to Zermatt.

The Haute Route Chamonix to Zermatt is the most classic ski traverse in the world! Haute Route program consists of 7 days ski touring. We follow the classic haute route itinerary in order to stay at the most comfortable refuges all along the way.

This is a physically demanding ski tour, and you need to have a good fitness level, be a competent backcountry skier with previous experience ski touring, so that you are familiar with all the gear and travel techniques.

If you have any doubts on your ability or lack the required previous experience, we recommend that you join us in Lofoten or Chamonix prior to your Haute Route Ski Tour in order to fine tune your skill set. We also recommend a taking a crevasse rescue course before embarking in this amazing journey. Contact us if you have any questions.

Northern Alpine Guides Haute Route is an ALL-INCLUSIVE TRIP. Many guide services offer this trip for a cheaper rate but don’t include many of the most expensive costs. Booking our NO HIDDEN COSTS Haute Route trip will save you money in the end. All logistics and costs are taken care of by our guides so that you get to just relax and enjoy this fantastic ski tour. The only thing you should budget for is lunches and drinks throughout the tour. Our guides will make sure that everything is in order and your experience and safety is our first priority. Is this trip for me?

This trip is designed for good off-piste skiers with a solid skiing background. Make sure you train and take your physical fitness seriously the winter before this tour.

Practical information:

Itinerary

Day 1: Ski Grand Montets then tour to the Argentiere Refuge.
Day 2: Ski tour to the Trient refuge in Switzerland
DDay 3: Tour from the Trient Refuge to Mont Fort Refuge above Vebier.
Day 4: Ski tour from Mont Fort Refuge to the Profleuri Refuge.
Day 5: Ski tour from Prafleuri Refuge to Arolla Hotel.
Day 6: Start from the town of Arolla and ski tour up to the Bertol Reguge.
Day 7: Last big day! Ski from Bertol to cold beers in Zermatt!

Skill Level

Intermediate to Advanced ski ability with good experience ski touring.

Equipment

Upon registration we will send you a complete equipment list. Light weight touring skis around 90-100 under foot will perform best for this tour. Please feel free if you have any equipment questions specific to this trip.
