Mount Hunter

West Ridge – AK IV 5.8 AI3 – 14,570ft / 4441m.
The West Ridge of Mount Hunter is a truly unique alpine climbing adventure. A quintessential Alaskan corniced ridge climb. The First ascent was made by our hero Fred Becky envolving 6 miles of wild Alaska ridge climbing. The route is technically not that difficult and makes a perfect trip for someone who wants to stay away from the crowds of Denali’s West Buttress. The West Ridge is a true classic and deserves its status as one of Steck & Roper’s “50 Classic Climbs”.

Is this trip for me?
