Ham and Eggs Couloir – V 5.8 AI4 – 10,300ft / 3139m
Ham and Eggs is one of the most classic routes in the Alaska Range. This is a direct line to the true summit of the Moose’s Tooth. The climbing is moderate with many short steps of ice and rock climbing interspersed with easier snow climbing. Once on top of the couloir the climbing switches to classic Alaska Range corniced ridge climbing to the summit. Our guides have climbed and guided this route many times and multiple times in one season. This is a safe and classic line perfect to test your Alaska alpine climbing skills.
Moose’s Tooth Itinerary:
The trip lasts 5 -7 days to allow for optimal weather and route conditions on the summit attempt.
Day 1: Meet in the early morning at AMS headquarters and sort person gear/pack for the flight. Fly and set up base camp.
Day 2 – 6: Climbing/Instruction/Weather days. The ascent of Ham & Eggs is a long day ascent. We use these days to prepare for the climb and or as weather days.
Day 7: Pack up and Fly out back to “civilization”, Talkeetna. Night at the world famous Fairview Inn.
